Curating and Organizing Digital Content

Moving to digital resources can be a powerfull educational model for our students. The process takes an understanding of how to curate and organize digital materials. Teachers need tools and support for the curation, creation, and organiztaion of digital resources.

Net Texts is a system designed to allow schools to replace textbooks with customized multimedia courses viewed on tablets and mobile devices. Teachers build courses on a content management site using open educational resources as well as their own materials. Students can download and view these courses using an iPad or Android app. All the videos, handouts, slideshows, and other materials are saved to local storage on the tablet, allowing students to view content without an internet connection. Net Texts works with schools to gather and organize OER content, train teachers, and implement a 1:1 system.
