Teaching Programming with Scratch

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Would you like to help your students:
- imagine new possibilities of what they can do and create with computers?
- learn to express themselves creatively with technology?
- explore computing concepts through personally-meaningful projects?

This presentation will introduce Scratch, an easy-to-use programming environment that enables students to create interactive stories, games, animations, and simulations. As students create and share Scratch projects, they learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively -- while also learning important mathematical and computational concepts.  We will provide an overview of the Scratch development environment and build a simple, functional game that will be sure to engage your students.
