Organizing Google Apps and Digital Content for Teacher Sanity and Student Focus

As teachers begin to use web sites and other digital content in their classrooms, they often begin with a simple web site, a wikispace, a school portal or Google Apps. As the repertoire grows, these sites can get out of control. For the teacher, it can become time-consuming and difficult to manage links and file attachments, and the end result may not be the best organization for keeping students focused on their learning path. We will start the session by discussing the different options being used by the attendees, where there are problems and ideas for improvement. This will lead into hands-on activities to create eClassrooms to plan, organize and structure content that the attendees already have in Google Apps, Dropbox, web sites, wikispaces, school portals or anywhere else. Be sure to bring a laptop and/or a tablet.
